Enrollment Policies

Effective Date: October  1, 2026

Welcome to The Broadway Music & Recording Academy. These Enrollment Policies are designed to create a consistent, professional and supportive experience for our students, families, instructors and creative community.

ENROLLMENT

Enrollment reserves recurring time in an instructor’s schedule or a place within a class or program. Enrollment remains active until it ends on the date stated during registration or is withdrawn in accordance with the policy below.

Students under the age of 18 must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian. Families are responsible for keeping their contact information, payment method, emergency information, and student details current within the Academy’s enrollment system.

Placement with a particular instructor, class, room, or lesson time is subject to availability and is not guaranteed indefinitely. When necessary, the Academy may recommend or arrange a different instructor, time, location, or program.

TUITION AND BILLING

Private-lesson tuition is based on the number and length of lessons scheduled during each billing period. Prices shown on our website represent a standard four-lesson month. The total charged may be higher or lower in months containing five lesson dates, Academy closures, holidays, a mid-month start, or other schedule adjustments.

At enrollment, families authorize The Broadway Music & Recording Academy and its payment processor to charge the payment method on file according to the schedule and rates displayed during registration.

Group classes, workshops, recording sessions, artist-development programs, audition preparation, and other specialized services may be billed as monthly tuition, a program fee, a package, a deposit, or an individual session. Applicable pricing and payment terms will be provided before enrollment or booking is confirmed.

Tuition pays for a reserved place in the Academy’s schedule and is not based solely on attendance. Rates may be updated with at least 30 days notice. Any applicable registration fees, materials, equipment rentals, accompaniment fees, studio costs, or special-event expenses will be disclosed before being charged.

AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS

A valid payment method must remain on file while a student is actively enrolled. Monthly tuition and other authorized recurring charges are due and will be processed automatically on the first day of each month.

If a payment is declined, returned, or not successfully received on the due date, the account will be considered past due and a $25 late or returned-payment fee will be added. Only one such fee will be applied to each unpaid invoice.

The account holder is responsible for promptly updating the payment method and bringing the account current. The Academy may temporarily suspend lessons, classes, studio access, or future bookings until all outstanding tuition and fees have been paid.

Questions concerning an invoice or charge should be submitted promptly to studio@tbmra.com so the Academy can review and resolve the issue.

PRIVATE-LESSON CANCELLATIONS

Private lessons canceled by the student with at least 24 hours notice will qualify for a makeup credit, subject to the student’s program and the Academy’s scheduling rules.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, missed lessons, and no-shows are charged in full and do not qualify for a refund or makeup credit.

All cancellations must be submitted through the Academy’s designated scheduling system. Telling an instructor in person, by text, or through social media does not constitute official notice unless the cancellation is also recorded through the approved system.

Makeup lessons are subject to instructor availability and are not guaranteed at the student’s regular day or time.  Makeup credits must be used within 30 days of the date the cancellation is submitted through the portal and expire automatically after that period. Once scheduled, a makeup lesson cannot be canceled or rescheduled. If the student cancels or misses the lesson, the makeup credit will be considered used and no additional makeup credit or replacement lesson will be provided.

Students may hold a maximum of two makeup credits at any time. If a student already has two unused makeup credits, additional cancellations will not generate another credit.

Makeup credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred to another student or family, and may only be used while the student remains actively enrolled.

LATE ARRIVALS

Students should arrive with enough time to be on site, prepared, and ready to begin promptly at their scheduled lesson time. This includes having any required instrument, music, materials, or equipment ready before the lesson begins.

Students arriving late will receive the remaining portion of their scheduled lesson or session. Lessons cannot be extended beyond the reserved time because another student or program may be scheduled immediately afterward.

If an instructor is running late, the Academy will make every reasonable effort to provide the student’s full scheduled instructional time.

INSTRUCTOR CANCELLATIONS

If the Academy or instructor cancels a private lesson, the Academy will provide an appropriate makeup lesson, qualified substitute instructor, or remote lesson option.

The Academy may provide a qualified substitute instructor when a regular instructor is unavailable. A lesson taught by a substitute instructor is considered a completed lesson and does not qualify for an additional makeup credit.

GROUP CLASSES AND PROGRAMS

Group classes depend on consistent attendance and participation. Because classes involve multiple students, individual absences generally cannot be rescheduled or refunded. When practical, the Academy may offer materials, an alternative class, or another way to review missed content, but this is not guaranteed.

The Academy reserves the right to combine, reschedule, modify, or cancel a class because of enrollment levels, instructor availability, weather, facility conditions, or other operational needs. If the Academy permanently cancels a program, families will receive an appropriate credit or refund for services not provided.

HOLIDAYS, WEATHER, AND CLOSURES

The Academy calendar identifies planned holidays and scheduled closures. Private-lesson billing will reflect the lessons actually scheduled within each billing period unless a program is sold as a fixed-price package.

During severe weather, emergencies, building closures, or circumstances beyond the Academy’s reasonable control, lessons may be moved online, rescheduled, credited, or canceled. The Academy will communicate any changes as quickly as reasonably possible.

If the Academy remains open and a student chooses not to attend, the regular student-cancellation policy applies.

WITHDRAWAL FROM RECURRING ENROLLMENT

Recurring enrollment continues until properly withdrawn. To discontinue private lessons or another ongoing program, the account holder must provide at least 30 days  notice before the requested final date.

All withdrawal requests must be submitted through the official withdrawal process in the Opus1 Student Portal. Telling an instructor or staff member in person, by telephone, text message, email, or social media does not constitute an official withdrawal.

The 30-day notice period begins when the completed withdrawal request is received through the Student Portal. The student remains responsible for tuition and any other charges scheduled during this period. Missed lessons during the notice period do not reduce the amount owed.

The Academy will confirm when the withdrawal has been processed. Families should retain this confirmation for their records.

REFUNDS

Tuition and program fees are non-refundable once the applicable billing period, program, package, or reserved session has begun, except when the Academy cancels services and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, credit, rescheduled date, or substitute.

Refunds are not provided for student absences, late arrivals, no-shows, vacations, scheduling conflicts, or a decision to stop attending without the required withdrawal notice.

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method whenever possible. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider.

Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation right required by applicable law.

RECORDING SESSIONS AND CREATIVE PROJECTS

Recording sessions and project-based services are reserved specifically for the client and  require a 50% deposit at the time of booking to confirm and hold the studio or other Academy space, with the remaining balance due before the scheduled session. The  deposit, package price, included studio time, production services, editing, mixing, revisions, file delivery, or additional costs will be described before booking.

Unless different terms are provided for a particular project, sessions must be canceled or rescheduled at least seven days in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. Cancellations made with less than seven days but at least 48 hours’ notice will result in the loss of the 50% deposit. Sessions canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full.

Session time begins and ends at the scheduled time. Setup, file preparation, recording, playback, and breakdown may form part of the reserved session.

Ownership and permitted use of original songs, recordings, arrangements, photographs, videos, and other creative material may require a separate written agreement, particularly when multiple writers, performers, producers, or collaborators are involved.

AUDITION PREPARATION AND SELF-TAPES

Audition coaching and self-tape services provide preparation, creative guidance, and technical support. The Academy cannot guarantee a callback, role, admission, representation, employment opportunity, or other specific outcome.

Clients are responsible for reviewing submission requirements, deadlines, file specifications, and instructions supplied by the casting office, school, agent, manager, or other receiving organization.

STUDENT CONDUCT

Students, families, staff, and visitors are expected to treat one another, the facility, instruments, and equipment with respect. Unsafe, threatening, discriminatory, destructive, or persistently disruptive behavior may result in removal from a lesson or program.

The Academy reserves the right to suspend or end enrollment when continued participation presents a safety concern, materially disrupts instruction, or is otherwise not in the best interest of the student, staff, or Academy community. Any prepaid amount for services not provided will be handled fairly and in accordance with these policies and applicable law.

STUDENT SUPERVISION

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that minor students arrive with enough time to prepare for their lesson and are collected promptly when it ends. Unless a supervised program specifically states otherwise, the Academy is not responsible for students before their scheduled start time or after their scheduled end time.

Designated waiting areas are available for parents and guardians who wish to remain on site during a student’s lesson. Parents and guardians should avoid entering teaching or recording spaces unless invited by the instructor or a member of the Academy team.

Any child who is not able to use the restroom independently must have a parent or guardian remain on site in the designated waiting area for the duration of the lesson or program. Academy staff are not able to provide toileting or personal-care assistance.

Parents should inform the Academy of any medical condition, allergy, disability, learning consideration, or emergency information reasonably necessary to support the student. The Academy will work with families to provide reasonable access and accommodations.

In an emergency, the Academy may contact emergency services and the student’s listed emergency contacts.

NUT-FREE ENVIRONMENT

To protect students, instructors, and visitors with severe allergies, The Broadway Music & Recording Academy is a nut-free environment. Peanuts, tree nuts, and foods or products containing them may not be brought into or consumed anywhere on Academy premises.

Families, students, staff, and visitors are responsible for checking food labels and helping us maintain a safe environment. Although the Academy takes reasonable precautions, it cannot guarantee that the premises will be completely free from allergens or accidental cross-contact.

Parents and guardians must inform the Academy of any known allergies or required emergency medication and ensure that current emergency instructions are provided.

PERSONAL PROPERTY AND EQUIPMENT

Students are responsible for their personal instruments, devices, sheet music, clothing, and other belongings. The Academy is not responsible for property that is lost, stolen, or damaged, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

Students may be held responsible for intentional or negligent damage to Academy instruments, recording equipment, furniture, or facilities.

PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO, RECORDINGS, AND SECURITY SURVEILLANCE

The Academy may photograph, film, or record lessons, classes, performances, showcases, and studio activities for educational, archival, or promotional purposes only when appropriate permission has been obtained.

Permission for promotional use involving a minor will be requested separately from the parent or legal guardian. Declining promotional permission will not prevent a student from participating in regular instruction.

Audience members may be asked not to photograph or record certain activities to protect student privacy, creative material, or performance rights.

For the safety and security of our students, families, staff, visitors, facilities, and equipment, video surveillance cameras may be used in entrances, hallways, studios, classrooms, and other common areas of the Academy. Cameras will not be placed in restrooms or other areas where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy.

By entering the Academy premises, students, parents, guardians, staff, and visitors acknowledge that they may be recorded by the Academy’s security-camera system. Security footage may be reviewed or disclosed when reasonably necessary to investigate an incident, protect people or property, or comply with applicable law.

COMMUNICATIONS AND TEXT MESSAGING

Families agree to receive operational communications related to enrollment, scheduling, lesson reminders, schedule changes, billing, closures, programs, events, and other Academy activities by email, telephone, text message, or through the enrollment platform.

By providing a mobile telephone number, you agree to receive informational messages from The Broadway Music & Recording Academy. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. For assistance, reply HELP or contact studio@tbmra.com. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.

Consent to receive text messages  is not a condition of enrollment or purchase. After opting out of text messages, families may continue to receive essential service and account communications by email, telephone, or through the enrollment platform while enrollment remains active.

Marketing emails may be discontinued using the unsubscribe instructions provided. Opting out of marketing communications will not prevent the Academy from sending necessary operational, safety, enrollment, billing, or service-related communications through other available channels.

PRIVACY

Personal information is collected, used, stored, and shared as described in the Academy’s Privacy Policy. Some information may be processed by service providers used for scheduling, communication, payment processing, website hosting, or other business operations.

POLICY UPDATES

The Academy may update these policies when reasonably necessary. Material changes affecting tuition, recurring payments, cancellations, or withdrawal requirements will be communicated before taking effect.

The version accepted during enrollment will apply until a revised version becomes effective and any required notice or renewed acceptance has been provided.
